Belgrade, Serbia – Solidarity Grid

The 2nd of of 21 street lamps installed as part of Mischa Kuball’s Solidarity Grid.
It was installed in 2013.

The street lamp, donated by the city of Belgrade, is a lamp design common to Stari Grad (old town) – considered the main bohemian quarter of Belgrade. It is from the Skadarlija neighbourhood. It is an exceptionally ornate and special lamp which stands as a memorial to the generosity of the Serbian people in our rebuilding city.

Belgrade is Serbia’s largest city and capital. It is one of the oldest cities in Europe with a rich and chaotic history. Over 1.6 million people populate this city with its mixture of old-world culture and architecture, and a buzzing nightlife.
